I also have OS/x configured so that the dashboard comes up by dragging the arrow to the lower right corner. I can all of this information at the SAME TIME, almost instantly by setting up the dashboard and widgets. Who cares what they look like, they work! In order to view any of your Dashboard widgets while in this mode, your screen will slide to the left to view the Dashboard space.
As Space displays Dashboard in its own special Mission Control space, to the left of your primary desktop.
